Obsession with Zoos

It's definitely no secret that I love going to the zoo. I could spend and have spent hours at the zoo, just visiting all of the animals (and eating at the zoo restaurant). Working at the zoo is one of my dream jobs, and I often wish that I could just live there. I think I really enjoy going to the zoo, because each animal is so unique, and we don't normally get to see otters, bears, and lions every day. I like to get as close as I can to the animals (except the alligators), smashing my face up to the glass if necessary. This is probably why I get so irritated when we happen to be at the zoo on a crowded day, because I'm so short and have to shove through all the tall people to even get a glimpse of the animals. However, I do still enjoy it even when it is crowded, and I especially like the Oregon Zoo because the animals aren't always completely caged and the habitats are natural.
Here are some pictures from our last visit to the zoo during the summer.
Every time I get the chance to go to the zoo, I make sure to spend extra time near the lions. They are absolutely my favorite animal of all, and I always love it when they come a bit closer to the glass. They always appear so brave, strong, and grand. Even when they roar, they seem calm and collected.
Do you ever become overjoyed when you have the opportunity to go to the zoo?
